After a disastrous Monday Night Football performance against the Tennessee Titans, the New Orleans Saints received the news that one half of their premiere Running Back tandem, Deuce McAllister, is out for the season with a torn knee ligament. McAllister tore his left ACL and badly damaged his MCL in the second quarter after landing awkwardly after catching a short yard pass from Quarter Back Drew Brees.

The Saints are 0-3 and face a tough road to get to the playoffs. In fact history is against them; only five teams in NFL history made it to the playoffs after starting 0-3. The Saints are now forced to solely rely on RB Reggie Bush for their running game. Bush is fully capable of carrying the running game on his own, but the two back tandem is the latest trend in the NFL, and was the main factor in New Orleans making the playoffs last year.

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister will miss the rest of the NFL season after tearing a knee ligament.

McAllister said an MRI exam Tuesday confirmed his worst fears: He tore his left anterior cruciate ligament in Monday night's 31-14 loss to Tennessee.

"I didn't want to believe, but just taking that walk to the locker room you could feel it just kind of giving way a little bit," he said.

"And that was just kind of reminiscent of how the other one felt," he added, referring to a 2005 injury.
