Giants.com is reporting that on Wednesday September 5th Giants and Jets officials broke ground on what is already being labeled the "flagship stadium of the National Football League." The 1.3 billion dollar arena is being privately financed by both the Giants and Jets equally. It will be the first arena in professional sports that two teams permanently call home. From a business standpoint, the new stadium should create a massive amount of revenue.

The current Giants Stadium, which sits directly next to where the new stadium is being built, was named the #1 top grossing stadium in the world in 2003 by Billboard Magazine. The new stadium should be able to go above and beyond what the current stadium has already accomplished revenue-wise. The improved parking and tailgate options should make it much easier for current fans to enter and exit the facility. But thats not all. A brand new rail facility has been added that will drop fans off directly in front of the stadium. The rail station will have connections to New York's Penn Station, New York's Penn Station, Metro North and other regional rail stations. There is no question that this state of the art arena will draw even more fans than current Giant Stadium.

Although it may seem that this stadium has been designed specifically for the die-hard New York football fan, that is not the case. Other events that will take place inside this magnificent arena include international soccer, college football, concerts and more. This is not just something that only sports fans in the tri-state area should be excited about. The new stadium will host something for everyone creating the ultimate entertainment venue on the east coast.
