Red Sox Lock Up Pedroia

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
Earlier today the Boston Red Sox locked up the reigning AL MVP Dustin Pedroia for six years $40.5 million. This comes as the first major move of the Red Sox off season. Locking up Pedroia for the next six years assures the Red Sox of a great young second baseman who hustles, plays exceptional defense and hits well. Any teamdustin_pedroia1.jpg in the Major League who love to have a player with the talent and heart of Pedroia, and the Red Sox are lucky they locked him up for years to come. What comes as a shock is that the Sox got Pedroia for such a low price for how many years they signed him for. Pedroia is worth more than the money they gave hime but he was willing to take less money because he loves his team. Pedroia stated "I understood all that stuff. I understood that if I went year-to-year I probably would have made more money. But I'm in a place that I love". It looks like the Red Sox are set for a long time at the second base position.
