The Yankees have declined arbitration with all of eight of their formor players that are becoming free agents. The most recent being, Andy Pettite and Bobby Abreu. They still have plans on siging them but want to give them new contracts. Also they have declined arbitration to Jason Giambi, Mike Mussina, Carl Pavano, Sidney Ponson, Ivan Rodriguez, and Chad Moeller. After a season with alot of disapointment, the Yankees are looking to revamp their roster and get back to the playoffs and the World Series.

The Yankees have been in the playoffs for 13 consecutive seasons until last season. Changes are needed to be made, to bring more youth and better arms to their pitching staff. Also opening up a new stadium this year will help bring attention to those free agents this offseason. Hopefully with their offseason signings, the Yankees make their way back to the playoffs and win their 27th World Series.
