Nike+IPod

As technology continues to amaze us, the areas in which they advance tend to as well.  Exercising and physical activity are actions that most of us do not look forward to, and we all try to think of excuses not to participate in them.  People seem to lack the proper motivation to work out, but the Nike+Ipod has worked to increase that needed motivation.

Released in 2006, the Nike+Ipod was a revolutionary device that fits inside your shoe and hooks up to your IPod.   It gives runners real time updates such as speed, distance traveled, pace, and time remaining in the workout.  It is also a great form of motivation as well.  Not only does it tell you when you are almost done, but it also plays selected "motivation" songs when you start to slow down during your workout.  Nikeplus.com is great site where you can post your results and compare them to your friends and even some professionals.

There have been some improvements made over the past three years since the release of this device.  Nike+IPod has partnered with several gyms which allows you to hook up your device to a treadmill and see your results on the screen.   As the IPod continues to improve (Itouch, Iphone, etc.), so do the compatibilities with Nike+IPod.  You no longer have to buy the device that hooks up to the IPod, and you can now upload your results online as soon as you finish your workout.
