The Riddell Revolution, a helmet introduced in 2002, is making big strides in safety for football players of all ages.  Injuries to the head are among the most common and most detrimental in the game of football.  The impacts are mainly on the side of the head, that's why the new helmet has extra padding in that area to further protect the player.  The Tru-Curve technology is a protective shell that extends down to the jaw area to lock that in place so the head and jaw are more stable, making a major impact less painful.  The VSR Air-Fit System allows the player to add air to the pads of the helmet to insure a personalized, comfortable fit.  Experts warn that concussions can cause short-term, as well as long-term brain damage, especially to teenagers and young adults.  The new helmet is designed to drastically reduce these injuries and protect our players from the dangerous nature of this great game.

helmet.gifCascade has released a new ice hockey helmet designed to prevent concussions and protect against catastrophic hits. Cascade has dominated the lacrosse helmet market for years now, and this is the first attempt at entering the ice hockey market. With concussions at an all-time high in sports, now is not a bad time for Cascade to widen its product line.

There is a new SEVEN technology, which is supposed to provide the protection of two helmets in one. There are small, cylindrical cells in the helmet set to absorb any contact through lateral displacement, and it also limits the amount of G-Forces sent to the brain from a hit. The helmet is divided into three parts; the brow, the shell, and the back. Each can be custom fit without the use of any tools, and each can also be their own color.

Cascade claims "a good fit means a more comfortable helmet with better impact performance."

We'll see if this product lives up to its word. Read More
